While 729 people have registered to vote as of Oct. 20, Dzwonkowski said he expects upwards of another 600 people to register by 8 p.m. Oct. 30, the deadline to do so in person at the Registrar’s Office in City Hall, 27 West Main St. Election Day is Nov. 6. The deadline to register by mail is midnight tonight.
In order to beat that deadline, the Connecticut Public Interest Research Group began working early this week to register college-age students in the state to vote, including many at Central Connecticut State University. The registration efforts are expected to have helped more than 1,000 students at four universities — including CCSU — to register by mail Monday and today.
Those registering in person — as well as those registering by mail — must have one form of identification. That could include a driver’s license, Social Security card or utility bill, among others.
